  • Who owns The Village and is it financially secure?

The Village is owned by Freedom Properties-Hemet, LLC, a California Limited Liability Partnership. Within 3 1/2 years, the partners paid off the mortgage. There is no mortgage or debt owed to any financial institution.

  • Do I keep my own doctors?

Yes! We do, however, have a licensed nurse on duty 7 days a week and a full nursing staff at the HealthCare Center.

  • Can I bring my own car?

Absolutely. We offer gated parking and do our best to provide you with a reserved space closest to your apartment. Covered carports are complimentary.

  • Can my guests spend the night and also join me in the dining room?

Yes! We love to have guests at The Village. Our guest rooms and guest tickets are available at nominal fees. For large parties, our private dining room is available by reservation at no additional charge.

  • What if I only need a little assistance and not enough to move to Assisted Living?

Our Services For You department provides caregivers to assist you with personal laundry, shopping and personal care needs for a reasonable hourly fee.

  • Do I have control over my own heating and air conditioning?

Yes! Each apartment has individual controls for air conditioning and heat.

  • How will I meet new people?

Our resident "Friends" Committee will arrange for dinner hosts for the first few days after you move in.They will show you around, introduce you to your new neighbors and welcome you with open arms.

  • What happens if something needs repair in my apartment?

Our maintenance staff is available to assist you. Requests are handled promptly and professionally.

  • With so many activities, how can I best plan my day?

Our "in-house" television station will remind you of upcoming events. Our full-time Activity Director also provides a weekly newsletter.

  • I love to keep busy. Can I sign up for some volunteer work?

Most certainly. Residents volunteer their time to work in our Library, Activities, Marketing, HealthCare Center, Resident Council and some volunteer in the community.

  • Do I still pay property taxes?

No. You do not actually own your apartment and will not have to pay property taxes. However, a percentage of your monthly fee can be deducted on your income tax as a prepaid medical expense.

  • How do I manage the move?

Our Moving Assistance Coordinator will assist you with the move from start to finish.

  • How do your rebate programs work?

The choice of 0%, 50% or 75% rebate programs are available on your entrance deposits. The price will vary, depending on which program you choose.

  • Are you affiliated with any religious organization?

No. We are open to the public and not affiliated with any religion. We do, however, offer non-denominational services every Sunday.

  • Do you offer an open-seating policy in the dining room?

Yes! Residents are encouraged to mingle and meet other people.

  • Do you have extra storage available?

Yes! Each resident is given a storage unit within the building.

  • Are there meals on the menu for people with special diets?

Yes! All of our nutritious meals are prepared with seniors in mind. However, low-salt items, non seasoned food and vegetarian dishes are available daily.

  • How many meals are included?

One main meal is included. You also may arrange for your meals to be delivered or you may opt for one of our flexible meal plans.

  • What happens if I am still active and my spouse needs assistance?

You can choose either to have assistance from our Services For You department or your spouse can reside in Assisted Living. In this case, you would then pay the one-person monthly fee and your spouse would pay the Assisted Living fee according to your Health Care Plan.

  • If something happens to me with the first year, what happens to my entrance deposit?

If something happens to you within the first 90 days, your entrance deposit is 100% refundable. Within the first 25 months, the fee depreciates each month and a portion would be refundable.

  • Are there any special requirements to live at The Village?

Yes. You need to meet both financial and health requirements to qualify.

  • What cleaning will the housekeepers do?

You will have the same housekeeper the same day, each week. She will vacuum, clean your bathroom and kitchen, change the linens on your bed and supply you with clean towels.

  • Do you offer cable?

Yes. The maintenance department will stop by the day you move in to connect the cable to your TV, which is included in your monthly service fee. We offer over 30 stations.

  • Where will I get my mail?

There are mail boxes located in the lobby, near the front desk. Your mailbox number will correspond with your apartment number and you will receive a key.

  • How will I ever learn everything?

You will receive a Village Resident Handbook that is an easy reference format. Everything you will need to know will be in the booklet. Our residents and staff will be happy to assist in every way they can.
